Prod Release notes 17 August

Production Release Notes, 2026-08-17

Scope: production-branch deployments across Genesis Technologies LLC repos for today’s migration window, Monday 2026-08-17. Six repos migrated.

Production was last on the 2026-08-07 release. Today’s cut promotes the 2026-08-15 staging cut to production across the five product repos, plus genesis-aws-services, which was not part of the 08-15 staging cut and migrated on its own track today.

Dominant theme is Brand Hub structured brand memory (EVO-4361), spanning genesis-web, genesis-train and artistevolve-fe, with a required backfill migration. Second theme is admin user deletion (EVO-4503), spanning fe-artistevolve-admin, artist-admin and genesis-web. Also in this cut: multi-device push notifications, the Idea Center video duration cap, the OpenAI incident-noise follow-up, and removal of the Zoom to Whop automation from genesis-aws-services.

Repo	Role	Release	Prod merge	Previous prod
artistevolve-fe	FE / App	4.13.0	stage to main (#734)	4.12.0 (2026-08-07)
genesis-web	Web / API	4.19.0	stage to main (#1031)	4.18.0 (2026-08-07)
fe-artistevolve-admin	Admin FE	1.15.0	stage to main (#90)	1.14.0 (2026-08-07)
artist-admin	Admin API (BE)	1.13.0	stage to main (#113)	1.12.0 (2026-08-07)
genesis-train	Agent / ML	no semver	staging to main (#180)	#174 (2026-08-07)
genesis-aws-services	Lambdas	no semver	staging to prod (#109)	#106 (2026-08-07)

Repos not part of this production cut: genesis-ui (no prod merge, staging tip still the 2025-08-05 sync) and dormant repos genesis-admin, ArtistEvolve, g-ui, cm-scout, ae-infra.

Migration in this cut, action required. genesis-web/packages/server/scripts/migrations/2026-08-10-backfill-brand-hub.js (EVO-4364) seeds the six canonical Brand Hub docs for users who completed Buzz before the feature shipped. Idempotent and safe to re-run. Dry run first, then execute:
bash
FORCE_PRODUCTION=true EXECUTE_MIGRATION=true NODE_ENV=prod node scripts/migrations/2026-08-10-backfill-brand-hub.js
packages/server/scripts/MIGRATIONS.md on main currently records Dev only (henry, 2026-08-11, processed=22 seeded=22). The Staging and Production rows are both still unchecked, so confirm the staging run happened before running prod, then fill in both rows and add the row to the release log tracker.

genesis-web, 4.19.0 (Web / API, new since 4.18.0)

Minor release: Brand Hub structured brand memory data plane, multi-device push notifications, and the internal service-to-service user delete endpoint, plus Idea Center fixes. Promoted stage to main (#1031).

Features

[EVO-4361] Brand Hub: Structured brand memory data plane. Six persisted brand docs per artist, Buzz-completion seeding plus backfill, and read/patch and propose/approve/dismiss APIs for Arti. Adds resolveBrandHubUserId so service callers can key by email or ObjectId, enforces the taste-timeline and decision-log enums, and ships the backfill migration script. (#1023)
[EVO-4433] Push: Multi-device push notifications. FCM client, PushToken model with device-info storage, taxonomy and preference wiring, a test endpoint, and token cleanup on soft delete. No FE consumer in this cut. (#1026)
[EVO-4503] Users: Internal service-to-service DELETE /internal/users/:userId, gated by requireServiceToken, delegating to the existing softDeleteUserService so the cascade and the login-blocking cache behave identically to self-delete. Acting admin recorded as deletedBy, self-deletion through this path is rejected. (#1025)

Fixes

[EVO-4377] Idea Center: Re-host Dropbox videos to S3 (temp links fail Twelve Labs URL validation) and reject over-cap durations before analysis. (#1027)
[EVO-4228] Idea Center: Sync moodboard title from plan context on create and retitle, unless the user already renamed it. (#1024)

artistevolve-fe, 4.13.0 (FE / App, new since 4.12.0)

Minor release: the Brand Hub approval chip, cohort-invite preservation through login, and a broad batch of agents UI, chart, carousel and calendar fixes. Promoted stage to main (#734).

Features

[EVO-000] Brand Hub: BrandHubApprovalChip, Approve / Edit / Dismiss for gated brand memory writes, on both main chat and Idea Center. Edit exposes the real field values going into the doc, not just the summary, and threads amendedPatch back through the resume call. (commit 0f027bf8, no PR)

Fixes

[EVO-4472] Auth: Preserve cohort invite through login for existing users. The login mutation no longer clears the pending invite, signup carries ?invite=CODE to login, and both banners get a dismiss control. (#727)
[EVO-4492] Agents UI: Moodboard task fetch and sort reset, project sidebar active/archive sections, day-to-day timeline on due date only, and calendar-event refetch after agent mutations. (#728)
[EVO-4381] Charts / Social: Static platform chip when only one platform series, non-connected platform full height, TikTok preview overload guard, level-up celebration badge. (#729)
[EVO-4276] Carousel / Profile: Disambiguate the level-progress streak label, and fix intermittently blank avatars on initial load via a shared UserAvatar. (#730)
[EVO-4325] Charts / Calendar / Campaign: Monthly x-axis label overlap, “No change” for flat metrics, sparkline null gaps, duplicate campaign tag colors, and removal of the inline scheduled-posts fetch error. (#725)
[EVO-4202] Generic: PostHog task-event tracking, Spotify release card height, moodboard new-task badge, social gated-overlay blur, locked-level render exception, textarea and dropdown polish. (#722)
[EVO-4322] Generic: Project start/end date-picker cutoff and dropdown placement, new-chat welcome and prompt chips, Idea Center import size validation. (#719)

#722 and #719 landed on stage on 2026-08-11 and were folded into the 08-15 staging cut, so they reach production here.

fe-artistevolve-admin, 1.15.0 (Admin FE, new since 1.14.0)

Minor release: delete user from the active users table, plus an Artist column rework. Promoted stage to main (#90).

Features

[EVO-4503] Users: Delete user action in the active users table, next to Block. Confirmation modal requires typing the artist’s name, since deletion is irreversible and sits one row from the reversible Block. Failures render in the modal and keep it open for retry. Artist column reworked: email under the plan pill, CSS truncation, wider Artist and narrower Current Project, two-line project titles. Column persistKey bumped to retire stale localStorage widths. (#88)

artist-admin, 1.13.0 (Admin API / BE, new since 1.12.0)

Minor release: the permission-gated delete user endpoint, plus watchdog debounce hardening. Promoted stage to main (#113).

Features

[EVO-4503] Users: DELETE /users/:userId gated by the users:delete-user permission, proxying to genesis-web’s internal service-to-service endpoint rather than writing deletedAt locally. genesis-web owns the delete cascade and the refresh-token blocking cache. Upstream statuses are mapped so the UI distinguishes “no such user” from a misconfiguration. (#110)

Fixes

[EVO-4265] Watchdog: Raise the dependency debounce from two consecutive failures to three (about 10 minutes), so a single upstream blip is no longer padded into a roughly 12 minute self-resolving “outage”. (#109)

genesis-train, production (Agent / ML, new since the 2026-08-07 `main` sync #174)

Staging to main promotion (#180), no semver. Carries the Brand Hub prompt wiring and approval gate, plus the OpenAI probe alignment and two analytics/Idea Center fixes.

Features

Brand Hub: Wire structured brand memory into dual-surface prompts with approval-gated writes. propose_brand_hub_write on both chat and Idea Center, structured {decision, amendedPatch} resume contract, prompt-level trigger guidance, and a fix so proposals are no longer re-created on every gate resume. (#175)

Fixes

[EVO-4265] Health: Align the OpenAI probe with the production client (timeout=10.0, max_retries=1 versus the old 5.0 / 0). The probe was stricter than the client it vouches for, producing 32 self-resolving critical incidents across dev, stage and prod. (#176)
[EVO-3929] Analytics: Instagram latest defaults to aggregate plus month to match the cards, and empty demographics return “unavailable” instead of looking like a failed fetch. (#177)
[EVO-4377] Idea Center: Reject videos over the duration cap before Twelve Labs analysis so long videos cannot burn credits. (#178)

genesis-aws-services, production (Lambdas, new since the 2026-08-07 `prod` merge #106)

Staging to prod promotion (#109, carrying develop merge #108), no semver. Single change: the Zoom to Whop cohort recording automation is removed.

Changes

Remove Zoom to Whop from the CI pipeline. Deletes the zoom-whop-webhook and zoom-whop-processor packages and zoom-whop.env.example from the repo, drops both Lambdas from the build and deploy steps in develop.yaml, stage.yaml and prod.yaml, and removes the README section. 25 files changed, 2609 deletions. (#107, Jacob Stallings)

Note: this change stops CI from building and deploying those functions. The deployed AWS Lambda functions prod-zoom-whop-webhook and prod-zoom-whop-processor, along with their API Gateway, SNS and DynamoDB resources, are not removed by this merge. Decommissioning them in AWS, if intended, is a separate task.

Cross-cutting notes (post-deploy verification)

Brand Hub structured brand memory (EVO-4361, EVO-000, migration EVO-4364), the headline feature, spanning three repos: genesis-web (#1023, data plane, read/patch, proposals, backfill), genesis-train (#175, dual-surface prompt wiring plus approval gate), artistevolve-fe (approval chip). Verify brand docs seed on Buzz completion, the prod backfill runs clean after a dry run, Arti proposes a write on both main chat and Idea Center, and Approve / Edit / Dismiss each behave correctly, with Edit showing the real field values and the amended patch actually persisting. Watch for duplicate proposals in the logs on resume (the #175 fix) and for any CastError on /brand-hub/users/:userId (the email versus ObjectId path).
Admin user deletion (EVO-4503), full stack across three repos: fe-artistevolve-admin (#88, table action plus typed confirmation), artist-admin (#110, permission-gated endpoint proxying to service-to-service), genesis-web (#1025, internal endpoint plus cascade). Verify end to end that deleting from the admin portal removes the row, runs the full cascade, and immediately blocks the deleted user’s existing session, meaning the refresh token should not survive. Confirm the service token is configured in the production environment: a rejected token should surface as “unavailable”, not as a permission error. Also confirm the users:delete-user permission is granted only to the intended admin roles in prod.
Idea Center video duration cap (EVO-4377), genesis-web (#1027, Dropbox to S3 re-host plus cap) and genesis-train (#178, reject over cap). Verify a Dropbox-sourced video analyzes successfully, and an over-cap video is rejected cleanly at both layers without consuming Twelve Labs credits.
OpenAI incident noise (EVO-4265), follow-up to the 08-07 cut, genesis-train (#176, probe aligned with the production client) and artist-admin (#109, debounce raised to three failures). Verify in prod that critical-incident volume drops and that a genuine sustained outage still pages. These two are complementary: #176 is the root cause, #109 is hardening on top.
Multi-device push notifications (EVO-4433), genesis-web only (#1026), no FE consumer in this cut. Verify token registration stores device info, the test endpoint delivers to multiple registered devices for one user, notification preferences are respected by the new taxonomy entries, and tokens are cleaned up on soft delete. Confirm Firebase credentials are present in the production environment.
Cohort invite through login (EVO-4472), artistevolve-fe only (#727). Verify an existing or legacy user opening a cohort invite link lands on login with the invite preserved, redeems it on success, and does not end up at catalog price.
Zoom to Whop removal (genesis-aws-services #107). Verify the prod deploy workflow succeeds with the two Lambdas gone and no step fails on a missing mapping, that the remaining Lambdas (weekly-digest-email, content-publisher, lambda-error-notifier and the rest) still deploy, and decide separately whether the orphaned prod Lambdas and their AWS resources should be torn down.
Moodboard title sync (EVO-4228, genesis-web #1024). Verify the moodboard title follows plan context on create and retitle, and that a user-renamed moodboard is left alone.
